Things NOT to do at the concert I said I wouldn’t go to….

In the interest of fair disclosure, I’m making a list of things I won’t be doing next month. Yes, at the concert I said I wouldn’t go to…yes, in the front row. Dear God, I think I need an intervention.

1. Hold up a lifesize styrofoam ice cream cone and scream, “Hey T-Bone!! Give me a double dip!!”

2. Make a poster that says “You DO make me Proud!”

3. Wave a pair of glowsticks over my head while screaming “PAR-TAY, PAR-TAY!!”

4. Wear my lavender 2007 Taylor Hicks tour shirt. What the hell was I thinking when I bought that anyway? Oh wait, I wasn’t thinking. I was wasted. Never mind.

5. Yell out “THIS is the badass tour you were tweeting about?” But, I might consider buying a t-shirt that says “Bad Ass Tour” on it.

God help me.

  1. LOL. I so wish he was coming to my neck of the woods!!!! We want a full report!! By the way, Don’t wear beads or anything sparkly either. LOL

  2. So true, Dee. I forgot about the sparkly!!

  3. casualfan Says:

Please don’t hold up a sign that says SOUL PATROL!

  4. casualfan Says:

    or FRAU-FEST 2010

  5. casualfan Says:

WHOMP ME! or TWITTER ME TAY! No surprise if those show up.

  6. hicksaholic Says:

The unfortunate thing is I can see you seeing at least three of these things when you go.
I actually think Taylor would laugh out loud at the first one. That would be hilarious.

  7. Don’t buy a sexy new outfit for the concert from Forever 21 . . . because yeah, ummmm . . . don’t want to make age jokes, but just don’t do it.

  8. Fairhope Says:

    Soulaz: best suggestion yet!!!

  9. Don’t tell Taylor, “You TOTALLY should have beat that Chris guy!”

Number one, because he TOTALLY did, CD sales not withstanding.

And number two, he can’t hear the way you’re spelling the name you’re speaking and he might think you think he’s Adam Lambert.

  10. Hahahaha!! Soulaz! Good one! πŸ™‚

  11. Don’t take a tupperware tub full of homemade cookies to the front of the stage. LOL.

  12. Poke Salad Annie Says:

And if he sits down, picks up the acoustic and sings, don’t scream “I Love You,Taylor”…..I realize the amount of Jager Bombs consumed determine this, but you got to hold up the rep of those of us who are not bespangled, besparkled cookie bakers. πŸ˜‰

Thanks, IAG…this has got to be the funniest post yet!

  13. Freckles Says:

I love the first one. And actually, I’m willing to give you money if you do that. LOL I would love a video of someone with a big sparkly cone, calling him T-bone and asking for a double dip. Lord have mercy, I’m CRACKING UP!!!

  14. cendrillon0308 Says:

Hahahahaha IAG this list has to be your best one yet! Have fun at the concert. Soulaz-you hit the nail on the head with the Forever 21 comment. I couldn’t count the number of bejeweled and beadazzeled tank tops at Workplay last year. Thank goodness I wore a plain black one πŸ™‚

  15. Come on! You have to have a sign saying (It’s All Grey) and show a lot of your boobies. Front row center is for making a statement! I expect nothing less than you bring us photos of his nostril hairs, sweaty arms and pics of his package.

  16. hicksaholic Says:

You always put so much thought into your posts! LOL Where’s Fairhope?

I wish Taylor read here because I bet he could add about 100 things to your list. He probably has stories that would make these pale in comparison.

  17. Fairhope Says:

And don’t tell people to ssshhhhhhh during ‘Maybe you should’ and ’19’. Especially if you’re in a bar setting!! This ain’t no daycare!!!

  18. Fairhope Says:

So I take it that it is not general admission? So normal people actually have a chance to be up front??

  19. Nope, not general admission. It’s actually at a college auditorium.

  20. Don’t sound like you’re having an orgasism if he begins ‘Let’s Get It On’. On the days leading up to your concert, try to refrain from tweeting Tay, 24/7 that you are going to Be There.

  21. I haven’t tweeted him yet, so that shouldn’t be too hard. πŸ˜‰

I’m waiting for him to tweet me first!

Just a joke people. Just a joke. πŸ™‚

  22. hicksaholic Says:

I wanted to look for you at the Buffett concert but we only stopped at one of the water distribution places and it didn’t say Baykeepers. We will meet eventually. I was with my Taylor Hicks hating husband and I wasn’t brave enough to tell him I needed to go to each of the water places to find “Fairhope” from the Taylor Hicks board.

  23. casualfan Says:

Looks like some dates are being moved around. Typical in the music industry. That is why I stopped flying, booking hotel rooms for these things. If they aren’t within driving distance, I won’t go.

  24. Fairhope Says:

Ya know what HIcks? My Taylor hating husband was working with me so…maybe it was for the best!!! If we were friends on FB you could see the pics.

  25. moonpie3 Says:

Grey, no shouting….. LOVE YOU Taylor! That seemed to happen at all the concerts I have attended and always in a slow song…. geeez! The SP ws good a ruining any mood that was goin on!

  26. Fairhope Says:

Okay this is funny. The grannies on the Booger Board are mad cause Taylor has ruined their travel plans, blah, blah, blah. They put out all this money, took time off work and blah, blah, blah…But aren’t these the same women who were chastising me for being so angry when I flew all the way to NYC to see Taylor and his show cancelled? Now Taylor has tweeted an apology. I guess shit happens. Get over it, I had to. Where’s my tweet apology Taylor?? I feel so tweet cheated!

  27. casualfan Says:

That was sweet of T to apologize although not sure why he felt the need. Shit happens in the music business and most have to know that it’s not personal. It’s just the nature of the beast. Glad he’s getting more dates and more national opportunity for exposure.

  28. I’m one of the pathetic peeps who was screwed by his Epcot change of dates and Ramshead Live change. I’m still pissed, but will deal with it tomorrow. I don’t tweet him. Don’t know how many cuss words I could do in 140 or less characters. I will be flying to Disneyworld Oct. 8th and returning on the 13th, but will only see Disney peeps and attractions other than Tay. It sucks big time, but yet I know that on Jan. 16th, 2011, from 4-6pm, I can remote my way to NBC and watch peeps skate and perhaps hear Tay sing a song or at least speak. I had empathy for FH when she went to NY and Grease was cancelled due to no AC. I need PITY ya’ll. I’m too poor for this shit to befall me. Tweeters, please tweet Tay that Rosie is a bit livid with anger and hopes to one day spank his ass. Since I don’t know his address, I can’t send him a vile letter. I think he has a home in Birmingham, as he is rehearsing in a studio and goes to clubs there. Why doesn’t that fan who was drunk in LA, laying against the building as shown on TMZ, know his abode? I want to send a hand written letter…

  29. Sorry CF, but shit happens when a singer gets ill, or injured or the air conditioning fails. Tay got what he thought was a better gig for his career. I thought Epcot was set in stone and I researched flights and hotels for an entire day and talked one of my non Tay friends into going. She works for a doctor and it took some switching and begging for her to get the time off. At first, Tay being rich now, he made light of it. Now I think he gets it a bit better. He switched dates due to a tv skating show. Don’t know why he switched venues and dates for Maryland. Anyway, since I was affected, I do have the right to speak out. Yes, I’ll deal with it, but still vent my shit all I wish.

  30. rosie..maybe the venue cancelled…concert tickets are off everywhere..
Sarah McLauglin’s Lilith tour has been posponed or cancelled for a lot of dates..the AI tour has had to cancel dates or rearrange them. People are spending their money very carefully these days..I bought an airplane ticket and thought I would see Baltimore & NYC , now it’s only NYC..but maybe Taylor is more disappointed than anyone. Like CF said shit happens in the music business…and in life in general

  31. There have been all kinds of news the last few weeks of artists changing dates and cancelling tours. It is unfortuante but this skating gig was too good to pass up. Gets him back on TV exposure to more than just a Taylor audience. I really hope this tour goes well for him. The last thing he needs is concert dates not selling a good amount of tickets. We all know Taylor would be called a LOSER for it even though anyone else having trouble this summer will get a pass because of the economy. Sorry…I’m a worry wart by nature. LOL.

  32. I was worried about the 1600 capacity Ramshead Live way before I learned that the AI tour, the Beach Boys, and Willie Nelson were in Balto. those 2 days. I get the change of venue and date for that. Perhaps I’ll get our money back from that, and don’t even have a problem that it is less than 2 weeks away. I do have a problem with the Epcot change. That is a big expense for me. I assume he was paid a set fee for the 2 days, and his 6 shows were free with admission to the park. Hopefully Disney/Epcot is not upset with him. Tay had a great spot during the 2 day Columbus day weekend. He decided he wants to tape a skating show that will be aired on Jan 16th, a Sunday from 4-6Pm. The best laid plans of mice and men can often go astray. It sucks that a Sun. late afternoon, skating show on a major network, is just too good for Hicks to pass on. Wouldn’t ya’ll agree?

  33. casualfan Says:

Sorry to hear about you not being able to see Tay in FL Rosie, but it looks like he had a good opportunity to get even more exposure and national coverage-even though the show won’t air till Jan. I really feel that he’s packing in all that he can while he’s still on the minds of the public from Grease. That’s a very smart move on his part. Taylor’s in business for himself and he’s gotta do what he must.

Dee-One of the many things T has going for him on this tour is that he seems to be booking in small venues. Most of the artists who are getting cancelled are high profile and booking larger venues and not filling the seats. Playing for 300 or so in a smaller venue-along with “bad ass” merchandise and affordable tkt prices will work in T’s favor. He may be switching some more dates around to accommodate more venues but it’s all good. Soul Man is hitting the road with his music and that’s the important thing. πŸ˜‰

  34. hicksaholic Says:

See if this works. I hope it was ok to put that here. Oh well… let me know if not

  35. Fairhope Says:

Honestly Rosie, I’m in agreement with you on the Epcot cancellations. He should not have done that. But his point is he’ll get to do the tv show and epcot later. The golf tournement and now epcot. He’s pissing alot of people off. He needs to be careful. Folks may start getting gun shy and not make plans to go to any of his events.

  36. Fairhope Says:

Didn’t work hicks. Just showed your user ID.

  37. hicksaholic Says:

    Damn it….

  38. hicksaholic Says:

I don’t get it. It works when I click the link.

  39. hicksaholic Says:

I have to say I would really disappointed if I made plans to go see him a long way away. However, it would probably be irrelevant because my family would probably commit me if I started flying(driving) across country to see him especially in a golf tournament. Epcot really sounded like fun and I can see a lot of fans wanting to make that trip. I sure wouldn’t be traveling to a skating tournament but that’s just me.
I still keep hoping he will show up in a Gulf Shores concert.

  40. Fairhope Says:

Hicks: it’s telling me to enter your log in and password.

  41. casualfan Says:

Listen up Rosie-I saw your post referencing my comment regarding T’s finances. First off, just because one is frugal with their money doesn’t mean they don’t invest wisely. In fact, they are the ones who do invest and invest well. IF that is indeed Taylor’s car-and no proof is established that it is, then he made a wise investment. Second, you keep making the snarky comment that I keep saying that he’s in the poor house and lives like a pauper….that is NOT EVER what I have said.

Now, I’ve asked you once before and I will ask you again to please not reference me or any comment I make over here on that blog. I’ve had more than my share of problems with that blog and it’s gotten old.

  42. CF, you read there and some there read here. You don’t post there and some there don’t post here. I post regularly both places and try to stay out of the frey. I said nothing there that I didn’t already say to you here in a manner of speaking. You have said he is careful with his money. That nice restored car was a fun thing to see and know about him. I wasn’t trying to start something and if you were offended then I apologize.

  43. casualfan Says:

Thank you Rosie for the apology. It’s greatly appreciated. You know as well as I do that all it takes is one seed to get the drama queens going and they don’t stop.

Taylor could very well be living in a nice home and restoring cars…wtf really knows and I personally don’t care. I only know what I’ve been told that he’s very careful with his money. I would think he would splurge on a custom built tour bus for his comfort on the road verses vintage cars and luxury homes…but that’s opinion. πŸ˜‰

  44. hicksaholic Says:

What car???? I want to see.

  45. Poke Salad Annie Says:

Yeah, me, too..I don’t post on any other board but the “Booger Board” occasionally. ( FH that was too dang, funny! shall ever remain so named, LOL) so I didn’t see the car and house pics.

  46. casualfan Says:

    Soul Patrol--Taylor Hicks' Vintage Ride

Whoever this account belongs to says that T owns this car. No proof given and until pics of the mansion pop up, I’m a total cynic.

  47. Poke Salad Annie Says:

TY, CF….not sure I’ll bite, either….doesn’t seem like something he would be interested in, but we really know so little about his personal life. And that’s as it should be.

  48. casualfan Says:

And that’s as it should be.
100% agree! And sometimes when if we do find out stuff, we learn we were better off not knowing.

  49. casualfan Says:

My celebrity obsession has always been with Steve Perry of Journey. I mean I seriously had it bad for that man! I am so glad that I never did any in depth research on him-besides the general stuff and his music. If I had, I doubt my affection and respect would still be as strong for him today as it was back in the 80’s. Mystery works best for me in some cases. πŸ˜‰

  50. Poke Salad Annie Says:

” Mystery works best for me in some cases. ;)”

So very, very true. Keeps us interested.
