The Border Song

Nice…

Holy Moses I have been removed
I have seen the spectre he has been here too
Distant cousin from down the line
Brand of people who ain’t my kind
Holy Moses I have been removed
Holy Moses I have been deceived
Now the wind has changed direction and I’ll have to leave
Won’t you please excuse my frankness but it’s not my cup of tea
Holy Moses I have been deceived
I’m going back to the border
Where my affairs, my affairs ain’t abused
I can’t take any more bad water
I’ve been poisoned from my head down to my shoes
Holy Moses I have been deceived
Holy Moses let us live in peace
Let us strive to find a way to make all hatred cease
There’s a man over there what’s his colour I don’t care
He’s my brother let us live in peace
He’s my brother let us live in peace
He’s my brother let us live in peace

  1. Lyrics send out a powerful msg if one takes the time to listen and hear the words 😉

  2. Oh my.

  3. I’m not sure I’ve ever see him sit that still to sing a song.

And Brian Less is incredible. Love him.

  4. Maybe this is Taylor telling his critics to shut up. ahhahahahah

Maybe it’s him telling his fans to fuck off. ahahhaha

Or maybe he just wanted to sing this song.

He’s an enigma wrapped in a riddle, I tell ya.

  5. He’s probably tired Grey. Being on the road with Grease, all the press junkets and putting in accoustic shows as this has to take it’s toll at some point. I do give Hicks huge props for his dedication and work ethics. He’s not one for sitting on his ass and hoping for an apple to fall from the tree and into his lap.

This is what keeps me hanging on the fringe. 😉

    Agreed.

  8. Go look at the picture, I think it’s on the boogie, of the first row of the audience from last night. It shows the cookies and the grannies. Gotta say it…The cookies are over the line. He’s never gonna get laid with fans like that! They’re scaring all the young girls away. Shit, they can’t even get close enough to see him!

  9. Ok, bringing that review over here…I’ve scanned it…and this stands out to me:

When Hicks couldn’t remember which album “In Your Time” was on, one fan immediately grabbed one of his older, pre-American Idol albums out of her bag and waved it in the air.

There’s a couple of things about this…first off, how could he not remember that In Your Time was on the album called…um, In Your Time??

Secondly, people carry his cd’s around in their purses?

  10. And she said this way better than I could:

American Idol alumni focus intensely on the fan. Obviously, from the beginning of the show, they depend on earning fan votes. American Idol fans are some of the fiercest around, of course, but I can’t help but wonder what would happen if Hicks untethered himself from the American Idol Machine and focused on what he wanted. If Hick’s No. 1 fan wasn’t a grandma sitting at his feet with Christmas cookies, would he act and sound differently?

  11. I told you the article would be appreciated. 😉

  12. NotYourGrandma Says:

The Xmas cookies thing is sad. And in tupperware? And putting it on the stage? I’m surprised they didn’t add some clean underwear.

  13. I’m glad you read that insighful, right on review, and brought over the video. I got into a discussion about it on the BB thread, Shadow Tours / High Noon Saloon Review. He did the song proud, but screwed up the lyrics.

  14. Clean underwear. LOL

  15. He did the song proud, but screwed up the lyrics.

LOL! He didn’t screw up the lyrics Rosie-he just “taylorized” it just as he always does. 😉

I don’t see the cookie thing as a big deal. I chalk it up to holiday spirit combined with over the top fan dedication. It’s the mentality of “Taylor likes us in front because he trust’s us” that intriques me. He knows these people by sight but not personally so why would he trust them? Knowing how Taylor is cautious by nature, I find that comment somewhat delusional-but then again…why should I care.

  17. Oh well-Not really interested in pondering over Unicorns in C Major, who brought the cookies, was milk passed around or how many tripods were mounted onto tables for video to be worshipped for weeks to come on every board, blog and chat room Taylor related.

My current interest lies in filling up my Jiangzhou’s Chest with lots of treasure from China and gaining entrance under The Temple of Heaven to secure the elusive Pangu’s Axe. Cheers everyone!

  18. mamaforpeace Says:

Loved this! These moments are why I hang around. IAG, I think there was a lot of energy in his sitting still.
And please, please, let’s not get lost in cookies, how old or young, or any of that crap. Can we just enjoy a very nice TH moment?

  19. cendrillon0308 Says:

    Taylor’s voice + Brian’s keyboard = amazing!

  20. Those old women in the front rows are stalkerish and scary. Those crazy women thinks he “knows” them. He only thing he knows about them is how freakish they are to be stalking him at ALL his shows!

Sad, but the only way to get rid of them is when their children finally send them away to nursing homes or when they die off.

Taylor is doomed! There’s NO hope for him.

  21. Snowstorm you are so funny! 😀

  22. Can you imagine what’s going thru his head? How long did they stand out in the snow so they could get the tables up front?

  23. I love how he never makes eye contact with anyone in the front rows. Serves them right!

  24. Well there has been a good discussion going on on the BB about the review, and I suggest SS refrain from weighing in there. taylor does engage in some mischief with his fan. For example he wore a new sport jacket and on one sleeve, he had the 3 black buttons and one redish brown one. Over a year ago, he wore a jacket with 3 black and 1 red button, and a fan asked him if there was any significance. He paused and said maybe! Most likely it was a snagged button that required a quick fix, but now he continues to play with the fans with the button game. He gets his jollies with his twitpics, button game, and unicorns and riddles, and laughs about it to his friends and family. The Grease cast probably looks forward to him sharing his gift bags and treats as well as the ushers in the theater. He had 20 for M&G’s after the concert. They give him booze, so he can drink and sweets to fatten him up, and since his black boots were scuffed, next time perhaps shoe polish. If he opens a club, he can decorate it with his hats, and should he ever need a quick escape from a hotel window, he can tie his gift scarves into rope. He has his fun!

  25. haha Snow

  26. Rosie, there is one sentence that stands out in your above post: “and laughs about it to his friends and family”. Think about what you wrote.

  27. This is why I first fell in love with music…Elton John was my first love : )
Love the last poster who said… “aww, look at Elton looking all normal and shit!” Haha! : ) While I adore Taylor, he will never outsing Elton on this song-for me.

  28. Another amazing performance of Elton’s that Taylor could do justice too. Elton gives me chills here! Especially since I’m from NY City! Love the mandolin!!

  29. Just tell me when to stop : )

Holy $H$D$ I Looovvee this Spoon almost as much as Taylor ; )

  30. Brandi Carlile does an incredible version of this song.

  31. Gagagagaga!! I really know how to spell! And I’ve had not a drop to drink…really!! Where has everyone gone?

  32. Ha, I was just reading that article in the link and have ready to paste here. Been off computer all weekend, 2 of our bands did a Christmas party at local country club Sat. p.m. (I say our bands since TheDMan plays bass in both bands, lol). Yesterday Mini-Me & I did Christmasy things while TheDMan flew w/1 of the other band guys to Memphis… they’ve got some ‘bidness’ 😉 there; won’t be home until Tues. p.m.

Anyhoo, hilarious refs to the Grannies and that woman with cookies. I can just see this sweet-faced matronly woman with a big tub of sugar cookies in her lap sitting right up front giving Hicks’ the sexy eye, thinking to herself, “wooo sonny you are one hot and well put together man… come see granny for a sweet treat” . hahahaha.

  33. LOL Spin!

  34. Well here’s one guy from the Land of Cheese none too ready to sign up for the Soul Patrol: http://www.o-broze.net/dave/drivel/?p=1562 . ouch.

  35. Fair, have no idea what I need to think about. I was just amusing myself, by musing over Tay’s reaction to having fans who keep such close tabs on his life. Sunny, did you notice that awful celebratory dinner that couple had? All of Taylor’s Grease reviews in Wisconsin were negative, and he may have really had an off night or two. Peeps in Taylorland have been too serious the last few days. Fair, keep your mouth shut at work today.

  36. Ouch is right, Spin.

Rosie, I think what Fair was saying is that you said…Taylor “laughs about it with his family and friends.” I think, and correct me if I’m wrong, Fair, that the way she interpreted it is that Taylor thought his fans were a “joke.” Of course, I could be way off base here.

  37. Rosie, those are ‘typical’ Wisconsin folk, I’m originally from the UP just North of there but have family in Wisconsin. Sausage, cheese and beer, a way of life. ha.

  38. Listened to The Border Song twice, nice tune, he delivers it quite well.

  39. Grey, some things his fans do, say and write are laugh worthy. That seems to be the case with fans of all the Idols. The fact, he bothers to have a tailer, change a button on his jackets and the old wrist band tells me he has some fun yanking the chain. We’d be naive to think he doesn’t joke about his fans in private. For those on the BB who read here to find fault, lighten up. We are all in that bag of nuts who follow Taylor Hicks.

  40. Rosie, don’t worry about the folks on the BB. They’re not going to lighten up…and it’s alright. That’s why there is the BB and that’s why there’s here. 🙂

  41. I’m glad I didn’t know the decorem of the fans and sites and the past history when I began posting the summer of 08. It is a shame there can’t be one community of fans, good discussions and no cliques. I joined the BB in Feb. and was amazed at all the information and topics. However I read for three months before making my first post, which is so not like me. Those there, may not even be aware of it since they’ve been together for so long, but I found the togetherness and cult like atmosphere, a bit off putting. Seemed more like a friends club, with strict rules, then a Hicks fan site.

  42. I don’t post there Rosie, so I wouldn’t know about that.

  43. I don’t pay any attention to the BB. The only Taylor fansite worth the credibility and the time to read-at least in MHO is the NESP. They stay out of the drama, have respect for the members and the Admins are great. You can bet when they have something going on or make an announcement, it’s the real thing. They don’t brag about what they know, who the know or where it happened. 😉

  44. rosie, the BB is crap and it’s dying a slow painful death. In two years, it will be gone. That fan site has hurt Taylor the most. They don’t think twice about banning people who don’t fit in, decreasing their traffic. The ladies who run that site are the dumbest women on earth. End of discussion.

The review from Land of Cheese is a very accurate review from someone who is objective. Taylor has messed up plenty of times and we all know that he has.. he’s also been impressive plenty of times, too, but there is plenty of room for improvement. Most of his fans cannot be objective about him because they are too taken by him. Most are naive about music and, before Taylor, most of them lost interest in music and did not attend shows for years. They relied on a reality TV show to “show them the way”… does that sound familiar? That’s how cults operate.

  45. I think most Artist’s have their demographics where they are more popular than in others. Taylor has a good following in the south and on the east coast.

  46. Anyone who thinks that any celebrity doesn’t privately joke about his or her fans and their antics is naive.

  47. THat is what I meant. I DO think he laughs and makes fun of his fans. It happens! I know I make fun of the grannies at the BB but I have to hand it to them…they do get some good info and video.

  48. NotYourGrandMa Says:

I went to the BB. That place scares me. I read that high noon thread. The woman with the cookies defended them, saying it was for friends and he got his own bag. So the tupperware container sitting prominently on the stage was actually for friends and not for Taylor so that settles that. How about leave the cookies at home – its a music venue, not a PTA Christmas gathering. I don’t think these people mean any harm but they don’t get that they are actually embarrassing the man they worship.

The problem is that being a fan of Taylor Hicks is as uncool as it gets. That might not matter to some, but it matters to many, especially the younger crowd. I think this is why new fans aren’t coming along, because the negative stigma is too prominent. Is there a solution to that?

  49. That was a wonderful performance. From what I’ve seen it was a great show. Who gives a s**t how old his fans are or how many cookies they brought…just appreciate the performance.

  50. NotYourGrandMa Says:

Oh apparently the critic gave a shit and decided to write about it.

  51. mamaforpeace Says:

OK, the review Grey brought over made its point, but Shack, seriously, a blog called “drivel”? Does it really matter? I’m not saying you shouldn’t have shared it with us, but I just can’t take this guy very seriously.

  52. Thanks Grey for the vids, I hadn’t seen the Runaround and was going to mention the other two I had seen. I don’t think the age of those fans or any fans is the problem. The problem for me is that they can’t see they could be harming him by always being front and center and not giving new people a chance to get the woo. There are most likely some at every one of his gigs, who haven’t seen him since AI. I’d like to see those new people front and center with Taylor so perhaps, Taylor would create a whole new vibe with them. My goodness, any performer will get stale, with the same 20 faces in front of him all the time. I’m not dissing those fans, but I just want what is best for Taylor’s career. A new audience is a fresh audience and keeps a singer on his toes and lights a flame in his soul to reach new heights.

NYM-I have a theory on this but won’t elaborate because I know it will open the gates of brimstone and hellfire throwing me deeper into the SP pit of damnation so I will keep quiet.

  54. I see that Danny Gokey is doing very well. I’m glad he is on track and is successful. As usual, they all deserve to excel.

Kudos to all on their musical journey and much success to EVERYONE!

  55. hicksaholic Says:

I have mixed emotions on all of this. I certainly agree from a young person’s perspective it’s not cool to be a Taylor Hicks fan. I also agree having so many of the same fans front and center for every performance is not conducive to Taylor gaining new fans easily. I also feel certain Taylor does kid around with friends about his fans and some of the things they have done- that doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate them. Like I posted on the Boogie money is money. It all spends the same. I am not naive enough to believe given the choice Taylor wouldn’t prefer a more diverse fanbase.
On the other hand it does irritate me when all older fans are labeled as dirty old ladies trying to get in Taylor’s pants. I think most are there because they enjoy the music and the performance. I also think the groups that have formed have almost made it into a high school sorority so now it is almost as much about meeting up with friends as it is seeing Taylor perform. The lady with cookies’ 4 year old grandchild was recently hit by a car and the boy was touch and go for a couple of months. This was an opportunity for her to get out and enjoy herself after what I am sure was a stressful couple of months. I doubt anyone would disagree she deserved that.
So I guess the bottom line for me is while I do agree the sometimes OTT behavior of some of the fanbase is certainly hurting Taylor’s opportunity to attract new fans, I can’t be too critical because I don’t know what all is going on in each of these peoples’ lives and what Taylor provides for them.
I guess what I would love to see is a middle ground, where regardless of age you can enjoy Taylor’s talent but back away from the OTT behavior and let others come to appreciate him too.

  56. Oh apparently the critic gave a shit and decided to write about it

————————————————————————————-Well the review of the music is what I as a music lover would want to read..what they had to say about the patrons of the venue would not attract nor deter me from any performance. Nor would the fact that a fan brought cookies..I would probably think as I think in this case WTF does that have to do with anything…I’m sure the same people being in the front row is not of any signifiance to the critics writing about Taylor or any other musician…they don’t research the object of their articles music from one venue /city to another so why would they research the fans that attended .

  57. The point is bringing cookies to a concert is OTT behavior. If that grannie wanted to bring cookies to share with her other grannie friends, that should have been done after the concert at a social gathering in a bar or restaurant, not at the venue. Also, the grannie should have waited until after the concert to give Taylor a gift bag of cookies. But, these old ladies don’t understand… homemade food items are always thrown out when given by fans. Taylor doesn’t know these women from a hole in the wall! Just because he knows your face, doesn’t mean shit.. he STILL does NOT know you!

This type of behavior is what turns off potential fans. For that reviewer to write about it, she obviously thought it was odd behavior.

  58. I’m sure the same people being in the front row is not of any signifiance to the critics writing about Taylor or any other musician…they don’t research the object of their articles music from one venue /city to another so why would they research the fans that attended .
    =============================================
Actually it is of significance when the musician has a small fanbase such as Taylor’s. Everything goes noticed and it will be written about. The person who wrote that article obviously found it significant enough to write about.

  59. Taylor doesn’t know the people, hasn’t been in their homes to inspect the cleanliness, doesn’t know if they have roaches, rotten eggs and sour milk. Even PtA’s, schools no longer allow homemade goodies to be shared. Awhile back he mentioned sharing ribs from a liscensed company with the NY Grease caste. They researched the reviewers credentials and learned she is a young journalism grad who has won awards. So they dismissed her opinion. This is a gifted, IMO, young music critic who praised Taylors, voice and presentation, moreso then we have seen before. She mentioned all fans of idols are fierce. She mentioned the Idol show and tag and special type fans it draws and that the winner feels he owes them something for voting. She was pondering, the pros and cons of coming off of AI, for Tay and everyone else who has come to fame from that show. Her mentioning the chair was just symbolic, of breaking the chains that bind. There is no way that group of fans or their friends, are going to view her comments in a neutral way. They are way too far into the club type party atmosphere, the photo taking and sharing, the cellcerts and each other. It is what it is. It is not the age but the attitude. Why they can’t all sit together towards the back, now and then, you know give it a try, is beyond me. I’m sure some on the BB. think I’m an insane, subversive, revolutionary dictator. Or maybe just a “hater”.

  60. mamaforpeace regarding that link from the blog “Drivel”, baby no one is taking it “seriously” especially not me. I posted the link because they are just regular joe-smoes and that’s their opinion of the show. WTF would you take anything seriously you find on a personal blog? You know what ‘they’ say about ‘assumptions’. BTW, you can call me Sunny, ‘shack’ is rather derogatory sounding.

Nice vids from the concert. He sounded good.

  61. Taylor performed that song Holy Moses/Border Song way back at his shadow stop here in St. Paul at O’Gara’s following the Idol tour show – he and Brian Less did a fabulous job of it then too – face to face with only the piano between them and Brian singing great back-up as well.

    Anne – good comments.
Hicksaholic – agree with your very ‘human’ sounding post….

IAG – thanks for putting up these vids – had not seen any of them yet.

  62. The reviewer got feedback and posted a new blog this morning in response. She noted there were young people and males at Tay’s concert, but that the group in the front stood out. She stated she wasn’t putting down older fans. Why do I even care about any of this? Have a good day everyone, I need to attend to the real world. ps, glad she gave the other three guys praise, they deserve it.

I remember watching that on video and being in awe, HF. Good times.

  64. The reviewer got feedback and posted a new blog this morning in response. She noted there were young people and males at Tay’s concert, but that the group in the front stood out. She stated she wasn’t putting down older fans.

Did the SP do their usual harassing job so that she felt like she needed to apologize for stating her own opinion?

  65. LOL! Grey, The comments are interesting with one in particular standing out for me.

The blog owner who wrote the review seems savvy and is addressing the comments accordingly.

  66. NotYourGrandma Says:

Rosie, I agree with your comments. The denial is amazing. They can’t handle that the critic was speaking about them. They rationalize this fanatical behavior and now they try to dismiss the critics credibility. Pathetic.

Anne- if a musician has a bunch of strange fans, people will notice and write about it. It comes with the territory. Get used to it.

  67. I see NolaMar steadfast and Taylor-true, puts me in mind of this song – I dig the glitter gown, lol.

The writer’s comment, “It’s not about the fans, really, but how he panders to them.” Rather hits a nerve I’m sure, with some.

ngoik ( and I know who she is, lol) stands out as one of the more reality cognizant fans, don’t you think, readers?

That comment by CATH2008 waxing Shakespearean quite smile worthy.

rockmebaby had me laughing out loud. Why? For starters, she’s obviously not really as informed about music as she would like to think as she apparently thinks that ‘sitting’ = “acoustic”. hahaha I especially love the mental image of Taylor ‘flying’ off speakers. With a cape, I really hope. hehehe, and I’m sure THAT will appeal to all those Toddler fans. 😀

  68. NotYourGrandma Says:

“How does having a primarily older fan base affect him? I’m not sure, but I think this is a fair question to raise. It’s not about the fans, really, but how he panders to them.”

  69. What? Taylor panders to his fans?

    *shocked innocence*

  70. It’s too bad I have to leave now because there are so many things I want to say about this:

    http://host.madison.com/entertainment/music/blog/

under…dane of my existence. Good stuff. 😉

  71. Sunny-LOL! Your synopsis of the comments are dead on and funny as hell. Tammy Wynette: Priceless! 😉

  72. In his cameo appearance, Taylor emerges from a cushioned ice cream coffin, shimmies self-consciously and toots a few seconds on his harmonica. I felt bad for the man. He’s got a great voice, but I don’t think musical theater is in his future.
    ============================================
This has been discussed many, many times on this very blog but pissed on by various circles.

  73. “Finally, there’s Taylor Hicks, he of the multiple cardboard cut-outs in the lobby and zero acting and dancing talent. “

From Lindsay Christians review in this link: http://host.madison.com/entertainment/arts_and_theatre/reviews/article_3c749006-e4b7-11de-8d80-001cc4c03286.html

Her friend of that other article concurs, “In his cameo appearance, Taylor emerges from a cushioned ice cream coffin, shimmies self-consciously and toots a few seconds on his harmonica. I felt bad for the man. He’s got a great voice, but I don’t think musical theater is in his future”.

  74. Casualfan, pissed on because they’ve already got him winning a Tony one day, then becoming a talk show host, running an entertainment hour, and likely scoring an Oscar in the future for some sort of “Viva Alabama” flick. lol *putting on my bullet proof vest*

  75. LOL!
    ===============================================
It’s a fine song, and it’s better than anything Hicks does during “Grease.” But it feels perfunctory and unasked-for. As Hicks strums, an older couple tries to sneak out without attracting notice.

Trapped in our seats, we jealously watch them go.

Come to think of it…if he decides to hang out with the Thunder Down Under more often, I am THERE for sure ; )

Maybe he can pick up some sexy moves from those strippers to entice and titillate the grannies he’s been pandering to… but he better post a warning before hand or they may come down with a mass case of “the vapors”.

  78. mamaforpeace Says:

Sunny, I guess I don’t pay enough attention to know you are also Spinshack! My bad!

  79. haha, Sunny! Thanks for the laughs!

Those reviews confirm what I thought all along.. Taylor’s talent is music and his voice. He needs to reinvent himself and come back strong. Stop doing elevator soul and AC. Pick a genre (Country, Blues Rock, Southern Rock) and stop being a jack of all trades. Stop dating yourself and stop with the 70’s and 80’s music. That music is not backing a comeback, ever.

  80. Oh my!

  81. Taylor’s talent is music and his voice. He needs to reinvent himself and come back strong. Stop doing elevator soul and AC. Pick a genre (Country, Blues Rock, Southern Rock) and stop being a jack of all trades.

    AMEN SNOW!

  82. I think it may take a great fall, ie. Taylor bombing in music sales to make him re-think what he’s gotta do to reach a fanbase. The elephant in the room certainly is telling Taylor to change something. I’m not one for diatribes, so… if not now, when??, if not now, how will he ever reach the masses?? I think picking the genre is the key-and I’ll give an Amen to Snow as well!

  83. And to think they call this a hate blog!

  84. NotYourGrandMa Says:

Rosie, sometimes I think people like to make fun of Taylor more to piss off the OTT fans, not so much Taylor.

  85. Taylor must have eaten all of his Christmas cookies. He looks a little chunk-a-licious in those videos.

  86. Ahaha, Fairhope. Chunk-a-liscious made me think ChunkyMonkey which then lead me into recalling that blogpost Gray Charles had up once, Monkey vs Robot. That was a good one. (ref Hicks vs McPhee)

NotYourGrandma, you know it; it’s not about Hicks, hell we’re not mad at him, we don’t hate him, we (I) have much admiration for him considering everything, he’s inspired me, my man to go and do and try to have fun doing our band thing.

It’s the OTT fans that man, you can’t help but find some of the peeps absolutely hilarious. Not that there is anything wrong with being hilarious… lol

    Yo, Rose! (hugs)

  89. Remeber Cliff Richards? He reminds me of Taylor for some reason….Love this song

  90. by that I mean he’s a very under rated artist.

  91. NotYourGrandma Says:

Well Anne, if you passed 3rd grade reading comprehension it might have registered that my statement was based on an observation of others. I wasn’t referring to myself, therefore my maturity or immaturity is completely irrelevant. What I pointed out is obvious to anyone with perceptive abilities. Many find it highly amusing watching people like yourself get their panties in a wad every time something negative is said about Taylor.

  92. Another under-rated song from an under-rated musician….I totally can see Tay doing this.

  93. like the maturity level of one posting here then running back to another blog bragging about what was posted here to get the conversation going over there…mature pot stirring at it’s best.

  94. Ya got to admit alot of his fans set themselves up for ridicule. Gotta go Kris Allens’ video is on VH1 right now. Tay, I love ya hard, wish it could be you!!!

  95. FH I was thinking the same thing. They set themselves up as I’m sure we do as well. If anyone took the time to think about it-all it is is banter towards screen names and cyber people. People take things way too seriously.

  96. Am I the only loser who is off on a Wednesday because they have to work Saturday because they work in retail and it’s Christmas and retail suuuuccckkksss at Christmas? World’s longest run on sentence.

  97. CF, I know, right? They take it way too seriously. And I am sorry to say I am a major pot stirrer. It’s so funny to see them get so worked up. But he is such a cute chunky monkey!

  98. LOL! I’m spending my day driving to LAX bringing someone to the airport. Charging up my Ipod with some daughtry for my loooooooooong drive.

  99. NotYourGrandma you are an eloquent and quite interesting commentator. I enjoy reading you. Now, CF, there you go admitting to that Daughtry love. lol

Adam gLambert singing on the finale of “So You Think You Can Dance” along with JLo tonight, BTW: http://bit.ly/5Stcsh .

  100. mamaforpeace Says:

    CF, naughty pot stirrer, you:)

  101. No, I’m the pot stirrer, Mama! Damn, I can’t get credit for anything!

  102. CF: What I’d do to be in California. You know it’s my all time favorite place. I was at LAX a month ago…layover only. Sigh!

  103. What’s Adam gonna sing? Dammit I need to get off the computer.

  104. Adam’s going to sing Whatya want from me…I love that song.

    So fitting too.

  105. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo……ADAM TYME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ****Hangs head low in shame****

  107. Putting Adam on that IPOD too along with Kelly Clarkson and Christmas music by M. Steamroller.

  108. I love Jon McLaughlin…this is one of my favorite songs from him:

  109. Yes, Taylor is very popular with motherly middle-aged grandmas. So is David Cook. Adam Lamberrt appeared recently on Good Morning, America. The vast majority of people watching his performance and congratulating him afterwards were middle-aged woman. I don’t know about Lambert, but David Cook differs from Taylor because he also has a large fan base of younger people . This is what Taylor needs, a more diversified fan base. He’ll never get the tweens/teens, but he should be able to get the 25 to 40 year olds. Why isn’t he doing so. I am in my mid twenties, yet few of my friends show any interest in him. They don’t dislike him – just not interested. Wish I knew what he should do to change this.

  110. “Wish I knew what he should do to change this.”

–Performing and recording modern music.. he’s hopelessly out-of-date(which attracts all the grannies). There a difference between a crappy song and good song. Seems like he chose (mostly) crappy songs to record.

    –Stop flying ice cream cones.

It seems like he has no confidence to achieve anything greater than AI cheesiness and bought into the, “I’m the winner and I’m going to ride the AI fame for all it’s worth”. Nobody likes a sell-out.

  111. Many find it highly amusing watching people like yourself get their panties in a wad every time something negative is said about Taylor.
    ————————————————————————————-
Then I think the comprehension comment applies to more then me..if you had read the comment I was refering to it had to do with the unnessary remarks about Taylor’s fans ..they are after all just people like yoursellf out for a little fun…I was not getting my panties in a wad over anything said about Taylor (you might have taken note of that) it was the reference to hoping to annoy Taylor’s fans to give you some entertainment. REALLY??? come on. And if saying derogarty comments about someone…just to piss people off so you can laugh at them..is very 3rd grade IMO (oh BTW I passed 3rd grade with flying colours)

  112. like the maturity level of one posting here then running back to another blog bragging about what was posted here to get the conversation going over there…mature pot stirring at it’s best.

CF..if the “one” referred to in your post is me ..please specify where I took back to another blog anything posted here…. blanket accusations without back up is quite meaningless

  113. Ohhhhhhh…Snow said the S word.

  114. anne, but you apparantly failed spelling.. spell check and a dictionary are your friends!

As far as making fun of Taylor’s fans… well, if they didn’t act like EDITED then nobody would be making fun of you. I know plenty of older women who don’t act stupid and are full of class and respect for themselves.

  115. We older middle aged and the elderly fans would be thrilled if Taylor did music that appealed to more 20 and 30 somethings. We want him on the radio and to succeed. Guess I never quite got the pandering thing, since the music he does and likes pre AI was also old school. Wouldn’t he be so called pandering if he did a CD of all modern music? I’ve never considered the Grease role as selling out, because he needed it to make money to get his music out there. Once again it goes back to his first CD and why one or two of those songs did not get radio play, as to how well he sold and what he has done since. As for the negative comments yesterday about his Grease rewiews, I knew some were just having fun doing their thing. Snow does tend to make some more personal, unecessary attacks on individuals, and I wish she’d tone it down. Some don’t like such personal sttacks and have quit posting here.

  116. rosie, I call it as I see it. I don’t mince words. Some of these women need to go away. They have hurt someone they claim to love by their ridiculous postings and OTT behavior. They don’t understand the harm they have done, but you have me to tell you and I’m always right. 🙂

Paranoia is another trait that runs wild in this fandom. If I was addressing you Anne I would have captured your post and responded directly. It was all part of an ongoing conversation and I was speaking in general.

  118. Oh snap!

  119. They don’t understand the harm they have done, but you have me to tell you and I’m always right.
    =============================================
LOL! Snow-You are a character. You know you are popular and make a difference when others stop posting here and talk about you on other blogs. 😉

  120. On a festive note….my good friend Vince Esquire is here in LA recording with Greg Allman on his upcoming CD. woooohoooo!

  121. Wow, they talk about me on other blogs? I’m honored. 🙂

  122. And as you should be! One has to work very hard and have extreme dedication in getting their cyber name (and in some cases, real names) on the Infamous Wall of Shame in the Soul Patrol. I have several plaques there myself and I’m damn proud of my accomplishments. 😉

  123. anne, but you apparantly failed spelling.. spell check and a dictionary are your friends
    ————————————————————————————-

Nope, Snow didn’t fail spelling either…that’s what happens when you have a fabulous GRANDson chatting in your ear while your typing. Oh being a GRANDmother is wonderful…..and along with their birth I didn’t become tone deaf and ready to stay home from things I enjoy , including concerts of musicians I enjoy ….even if others think because I’m older I should stay home and make room for the younger ones. My money is as good as anyones.

  124. Anyway…apart from the drama of the cookies and the age of the patrons it was a very good show enjoyed by most I’m sure not all…I thought what I have seen in videos was very good….that is what we were here to comment on that’s my comment…good music..good voice nothing wlse matters to me.

  125. I just want to make it clear that I never have said anyone should stay home from his concerts or hide in the back in a corner, or not post what they wish. I don’t understand some things some fans do such as keeping track of Tay’s myspace plays. That doesn’t increase his sales or income, and seems a bit like being under some cult spell of the leader. I imagine Tay would also considering it a bit odd that people spend their daily lives talking about his myspace, but to each his own. People do joke about him here at times, but I joke with my friends and family. People chat on his ning site about mundane thing. Some people make silly moving cartoons of him using jibber jabber. Some feel they need to give him gifts every time they see him, and get something signed each time. Some have written poems and songs about him. Guess what I’m trying to say is we could all lighten up, and he isn’t wasting his time checking who says what where. He wouldn’t want this blog or any blog to go away. That good music review of his acoustic gig, by a 25 yr. old should have been good news to all fans. No one need to have told her he usualy moves all around, that he broke ties with AI, has his own label, does his own marketing, or that they grew up on that kind a music, or tell her she was a snob. They should have, if they felt a need to comment at all, said they are glad she enjoyed his talent. This is all JMO, just like I think he is damn ballsy.

  126. Anne, I think your grandson wants your attention. Poor kid is probably thinking Grannie is more interested in talking to strangers on the computer rather than talk to me.

  127. Snow…you don’t know me or my grandson please do not make personal assumptions about him …. Don’t assume you know what he is thinking. You get far to personal. Stick to the people in your own life.

  128. Rosie, I doubt anybody visits his myspace anymore. It’s the same women leaving comments over and over again and it’s the same women spamming his myspace. They somehow think this makes him more popular, but it doesn’t. Waste of time.

  129. Anne, you brought up your grandson. You said he was tying to talk to you, but you were too busy on the computer and that’s why you made spelling errors.

    You said this, dear.

  130. I haven’t been on my own myspace accounts in months much less Taylor’s. I never really read his myspace anyway. What few times I did read…way back when, there were a few who liked to tuck him in at night with his teddy bear, read him a bedtime story and was even called “taybear”. No doubt that made him feel all warm and snugly inside.

  131. cf, anybody coming off AI needs to rule their myspace with an iron fist, or else the crazies take over. I remember Taylor’s myspace after he won and I felt embarrased for him. Many of the comments were downright scary. I could never understand how someone could let those comments get posted. A normal fan who was checking out his myspace was most likely scared off and never returned.

This is what happens when you get a TV audience, you get all kinds of crazies!

  132. I seriously doubt Taylor ever read his MySpace. He has people to do that for him. Faithful BW did it for awhile way back.

  133. John Mayer is a true lyrical genus. He supported Taylor during AI showed at T’s Viper Room venue. Would love to see those two hook up for a corroboration or two. Now THAT would put T into the spotlight and possibly jumpstart him in the right direction.

  134. cf – re: a John Mayer collaboration – that totally would be so awesome – but unfortunately, doubtful huh?

hey did you ever get those signed CD’s sent out?

Also – does anyone know if there is a way to be email alerted when there is a new blog post here? Or is it just when a new comment is posted? Thx!

  135. I didn’t mean the posters who leave comments on his myspace, daily. I meant there is a group, who keep track of how many visit there on a daily basis and how many plays his songs get on myspace. I’m not sure why they don’t keep track on the visits to ning, because I think in interviews he mentions that as his official Taylor Hicks .com. There is also facebook. What sort of things did fans post on his myspace? Don’t most people use facebook and twitter now?

  136. Maybe he could tour with a big star. I imagine he and Mayer would get along. Taylor is just too talented not to tour.

  137. Will someone tell me what other website there is that our converstaions are being repeated? I’ve been hanging in cyber Taylor land for over a year now and still don’t know what is what.

  138. NotYourGrandMa Says:

Most of the idols that are doing quite well toured with a big name first. They also signed with 19E. If he’d done both of those things I bet he would be in a much better place career wise.

  139. Fair, I think they mean the Taylor Hicks and Other Guilty Pleasures blog. Henry, JI, Nolamar, Caryl, myself and others post there. It is also called Chill’s and some call it the girlfriends blog. Last night I honored Snow there, by volunteering her to be the dancer who gets her face shoved into Taylor’s crotch. Caryl, had suggested that Tay do a performance like Adam did on the AMA’s, so the older fans would be shocked. Both Taylor Tuesday’s and Sunny’s Spinshack have the link and Iag has those links above. Fairhope, I thought got with it when you switched from Dial Up! lol

  140. FH-Perhaps someone can create an adventure/destination map of “Things to do in Tayland” for you. T’s Adventure Park has everything from marshmallows roasting to Voodoo chants. I hear there’s a Unicorn Petting Zoo where one can scrape woo dust from his horn, blow it in the air and see colorful rainbows, pretty bubbles and fluffy puppies. Of course when one ventures to this end of the park one can join in the festivities of sitting around the campfire playing “bash the fan” while watching Taylor’s head float around the open firepit while we all yell hateful comments and dictate what he should be doing with his career.

Of course there’s always the ice-cream cone thrill ride that drops down at sunset. One never knows what flavor of the night will be

All these attractions only require a meager payment of your soul. 😉

  141. Wow. This conversation has just passed embarrassing. There are no words for this.

  142. mamaforpeace Says:

    Moderator needed!

  143. “I seriously doubt Taylor ever read his MySpace. He has people to do that for him. Faithful BW did it for awhile way back.”

The point is he needed to control his myspace whether he had people take care of it or not. Someone needed to approve those comments and not let idiots post retarded crap, which in turn, hurt his image and made people turn away.

  144. Gee, now I’m having some fun with the reaction of Snow, who likes to tell it as it is and not mince words when insulting other fans. So often Ms SS has reminded us she is younger than the rest, knows music and tells us what Taylor Hicks needs to do to attract younger fans, like her still supposedly 20 something self. She has said the two words Old Ladies many times. Some were having fun, last night amusing themselves and others by putting down some of Taylor’s fans. I thought I was doing Snow an honor, by suggesting she’d be the appropriate fantasy fan, given her youth, being a non smoker, and talents to participate in the fantasy. It is a given fact that in cyberspace one’s Bark is Worse than their Bite. But even in a fantasy scenerio, I had qualms about her bite. Some of the put down fanatics, and rainbow farters, and believers in unicorns and puppies, found it an amusing fantasy, or in the real world a joke. Snow if you are meaner than me now in your 20’s, just think what a mean old hag you will be 20 or 30 or 40 yrs from now. And smart besides! This is just too much for me to process. Hope you can bend down now to any level and not get stiff, and hope you never get the bends in your advancing years of life. Hope you keep your mind alert, and remind others daily how you are smarter than the rest. Most of all I hope you have a give and take sense of humor to carry you thru life.

  145. Just so fellow posters and our moderator knows,, and peaceful mama knows, neither Snow or I need a moderator. She goes off now and then, here or there. I just joke and post what pops in my mind, here or there. I never mean harm and have no wish to hurt anyone, and just sometimes return snark. Me thinks SS can take it and she knows me. Heck, put me in the fantasy scenerio, I’d just sniff it!

  146. Snow seems pretty pissed off Rosie and I can’t say that I blame her.

BUT on another note….if anyone cares to listen to the video of “we are the world” some things come to mind that we have been discussing here these last few weeks.

As I watched this video it occurred to me that all these musicians, actors, entertainers all have different backgrounds, different music styles and different personalities. It is amazing to me that all came together as one for such an important event and worked as a team making a difference.

This video is what music is really about.

  147. mamaforpeace Says:

Oh, oh, gives me a chance to put up one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite musicians! This is only a partial though. Does anyone know of a full one with good sound?

  148. Damn, look how young Springsteen looks in that video. I guess it was almost 25 years ago. Wow.

  149. Oh, and I have moderated. 😉

  150. Hicksfan, you can subscribe at the top of the blog on the right…or you can click the box when you post something that says to email if there is a response. 🙂

  151. thank you so much IAG – I will do that. I really enjoy seeing the videos posted here – yours and others, and of course – for keeping up on Taylor fans, and how he could possibly acquire MORE. hahahha

  152. mamaforpeace Says:

Now I am in a Bruce state of mind! And it’s keeping me away from work I have to do. You have to crank up your speakers a bit for this one. LOVE this cd, The Seeger Sessions, which was recorded in Bruce’s barn, proving you don’t need a lot of fancy stuff to make a great album. And even older, the Boss still looks pretty good!

  153. Cf and SS, I can’t stop being me, and I have no intent to hurt or piss off anyone. Some of you had your fun here, joking around about fans elsewhere. Snow and Cf got on Anne’s case today. What I posted last night was in all good fun and others got that. I post with Snow here and with everyone. Not for even a nano second, would I believe anyone would be offended by the sexual tone, Adam lovers especialy, and trust me Snow wasn’t offended by me. Cry for attention. Snow and I have been around the block and she gets it that she can’t get to me. Cf, come on; we’ve been there and done that, lets lighten up. Fairhope, don’t ask anymore questions, you tend to get me in hot water when I respond. lol

  154. I think Rosie is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle…much like Taylor Hicks.

  155. Anne, you brought up your grandson. You said he was tying to talk to you, but you were too busy on the computer and that’s why you made spelling errors.

    ————————————————————————————-
Snow…me mentioning my grandson does not give you the right to assume that he was lacking in attention…or assume that he is a poor kid who does not get attention,,believe my he gets plenty. You DO NOT know him or me… I was merely stateing why I was distracted … I will say it again you get far to personal.

As I said before I loved the performance thank you for posting it and I thought that is what the converstion was about…but as usual some have to bring Taylor;s fans and their age into every conversation it gets real tiring real quick!!!

  156. Anne, if you don’t anyone assuming anything about your family members, it might be a good idea not to mention them in a blog.

My suggestion to you is to step away from the computer and pay attention to your grandson.

  157. Sorry Anne, the infamous Snow has left the building. The voice and he were excellent in the city of cheese and brat, and documented by a Madison music critic. For all we know he may not even have read the damn thing. Guys with gold balls, just move on to their next gig.

  158. Brand of people who ain’t my kind
Holy Moses I have been removed
Holy Moses I have been deceived
Now the wind has changed direction and I’ll have to leave
Won’t you please excuse my frankness but it’s not my cup of tea
    —————————————————————————

Hmmm, I’ve always wondered if Taylor communicated real opinions through lyrics of songs. Very nice vids.

  159. As Grey said-Taylor is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle

  160. Back to John Mayer. Taylor did collaborate with him on a song that did not make the Album. I believe it was the first TH CD. Taylor had said it wasn’t right for that Album so maybe it could still show up sometime. I think it would be great if he would tour with someone.

  161. That is cool Dee – do you know any more about the song at all? Or why it was not right for the album?

  162. Can I go troll the girlfriend site? I think CF gave me the link one time.

  163. Considering the Taylor Hicks CD was a flop, maybe he should have went with Mayer’s work. Mayer’s name on it alone would have given it more credibility and possibly airplay.

  164. I just read on the BB that someone’s meet and greet was cancelled and that they got their monry refunded. I guess I forgot that Taylor charges for a M&G. Holy cow! How much do they pay? Do other celebs charge for M&Gs? I’ll just stalk him in a bar or something for free!

  165. LOL! FH you are a hot mess!

  166. I know for awhile M&G’s were $100.00, but I think they can get a package deal I hope he still isn’t getting a hundred. You can troll and post with us Fairhope. We have a good time there. Or you could just go there and spy like many others do.

  167. Poor Tay is sick with strep, but he will have 3 full weeks off after Sunday. He hasn’t had that much time off in over a year. Can you ride up to Birmingham, hicksholic or Fair and stalk him for us? Wonder if Claudia will be in town.

  168. Hopefully Taylor goes somewhere warm and snuggles with someone special to recoop, appeal to the Golf Gods and get some T time in.

  169. I guess strep is what you get when you hang out with the Thunder from down Under. 🙂

  170. ROFLAMO!

  171. Looks like everyone is coming apart in Tayland. Boards are fighting, Twits are tweeting about how certain boards shouldn’t be “promoting” another Idol…And the beat goes on

  172. luv 2 b entertained Says:

More uproar in the Soul Patrol ranks?? Say it ain’t so : O

*off to search for the twits writing those tweets*

  173. Apparently some have waged war with the Mother Ship of boards…BB.

  174. luv2b-If you really want to be entertained, go to the one with the Daughtry balloon avitar. Insanity at it’s best 😉

  175. Poke Salad Annie Says:

Great googly moogly….you don’t have to go anywhere else to be entertained…I was just royally entertained reading the comments here…LOL!

  176. Poor Ace, but I have to give him an A for the effort

  177. My Gyrl…..

  178. To me…one of T’s BEST performances on stage

  179. hicksaholic Says:

    Rosie,
Fairhope and I could take a day trip to Bham hunting down Taylor I guess. We could bring $100 bills in case we found him. But there will be others that know where he will be a lot more than I will. I do know he is supposed to be in Pasadena for the BCS championship game that’s on January 7th. I am sure Taylor will show up at those bars in Bham- Ona’s and another one or two- and videos will probably show up too.
The major reason for all the infighting or bickering in Taylorland is there is really no new news. I think people are talking about Adam because there is a constant source of news. The Grease recaps are wearing thin and there is really so little new Taylor news.

  180. I hope you can see that the other ones, just don’t have what Taylor has. Adam, Kelly and Clay have as good or better voices, but they don’t play instuments, and they lack the natural moves, music knowledge and charisma. Taylor feels the music, goes with the flow and it works.

  181. They ALL feel the music rosie. Each have their own style, talent and each bring something different to the table. That’s why I posted these videos. When are YOU going to see that it’s not all about Taylor?

  182. Now Rosie,,,,you know not to say you like Taylor’s style better than the others even if that is your opinion…positive Taylor posts bring out the beast in some.

  183. I think it can be all about Taylor for rosie or anyone else …I also like Taylor’s style better than those mentioned…but I also like Bon Jovi better then those mentioned…I like Jackie Wilson better than those mentioned…doesn’t mean I don’t like those artists there are just lots I like better, including Taylor Hicks.

  184. I am a fan of, and appreciate the music of many many many artists along with Taylor, but there is nobody ‘new’ – since Taylor showed up on AI, that I like as well as I do him – his music, and his performances.

And truly – it’s not for lack of listening….as much as real life allows.

  185. I simply adore his style, his talent and his aura…..

  186. Van Morrison…..don’t need to elaborate

  187. Well I guess “Slim Slow Slider” isn’t allowed to slide past Youtube. Sad….

  188. gettin’ into the Christmas Spirit again –

  189. I just stand by my post but that is my opinion. I voted for all those people, at least once, except for Adam and Kelly. Didn’t watch season one and decided to not vote last season. None of the above are as original, fearless and as charming as Taylor. But thanks for posting them and I will watch them all later.

  190. I love this movie

It’s good that you stand by your post Rosie as well you should. Hopefully one day Taylor’s originality will be seriously noticed and he will get the attention you feel he deserves.

  192. True Master of originality

  193. More originality

  194. Poke Salad Annie Says:

Oh, wow….I had forgotten how much I love Bo Bice…he didn’t seem to get much promotion either….and he was mega talented… John Mayer and Eric Clapton, awesome, guitar plunkers…thanks CF for all these vids….loved them.

  195. I agree with you about Bo. He was my favorite to win that Season. I hear that Bo plays a pretty mean harp too.

    Clapton and Mayer….PRICELESS!

  196. I watched a biography on Eric Clapton last night. I didn’t know that he was in love with George Harrisons wife and that “Layla” was written about her along with other songs. He really went down a rough road in his life but was able to pick up and move on. He managed to turn his pain into raw talent. It’s amazing how music can truly heal the soul.

  197. Never was a huge Mellencamp fan until recently. Just now starting to appreciate his music. Better late than never I guess.

  198. TOTALLY BOOKMARKING this blog topic for all the great videos! (easier than trying to find them myself someday – ha)

  199. hicksaholic Says:

I love John Mellencamp. He is another one with an unusual voice. I think all of these people are talented. None speak to me in my heart and in my soul like Taylor does (at least from a live performance perspective). Although I will have to say that a lot of those posted definitely have “better” voices than Taylor. I find Adam very interesting. I like watching his interviews too- he is very comfortable in the spotlight. I always felt Bo was much more talented than Carrie and it is unfortunate he has not shared at least a little of her success. So much of the music industry is visual now. It makes Taylor’s win even more incredible in retrospect, not that he didn’t look good back on AI. But he certainly improved his visual image since then. A lot of people never have seen it though.

  200. hicksaholic Says:

    Fairhope
Have you heard about the music festival next May at Gulf Shores? I am really hoping Taylor might be invited to perform. It might be a long shot.
I think this festival is going to quickly grow and rival the Jazz Fest at some point in the future. I’m already planning to go.

  201. High School DROOL party

  202. I still find it hard to believe The Biceman hasn’t found more success, he has one of the most distinctive voices to come out of A.I. He was my first A.I. fantard crush. Seems so long ago…

  203. hicksaholic Says:

I still remember his acapella performance(what was the song?) Unbelievable!

  204. “In a Dream” Bo Bice

  205. Ok, got giddy and voted on Twitter for “Best Idol Ever” or whatever the latest silly poll is. ***yaws from boredom***

  206. I’ve been voting but there is about 20 inches of Snow outside. If you are that bored, CF, you can go to the BB speculation theory thread and give your guess on what is Taylor’s soon to be announced surprise for us. My guess was that he will tell us he purchased a Unicorn that can sing in C major and minor.

  207. That should be snow with a small s. We are having a blizzard not a snowstorm.

  208. hicksaholic Says:

Surprise? I am ready for a surprise. I have been a pretty bored Taylor fan lately(probably because I haven’t been to a live show since Bham). I hope the speculation is funny. I need to be entertained. I also hope the real surprise is a good surprise.

  209. Hopefully T indeed has good news for his fans Rosie.

  210. Hicks: The only way I would give Tay a hundred dollar bill is if I could put it in a g-string that he is wearing! I’ll give him 2 if he shows me his “bat and balls” (that’s for you, Rosie)! I will be in the B’ham area when I take my son to college on the 8th. So guess I’ll miss our Taylor. Plus husband will be with me so hunting Tay would be like a cold day in hell. Also Hicks I am talking to some of my girl pals about getting a condo during that music fest so we can walk to it and generally have a great time. No men allowed!

I’ve met Bo Bice and I can tell he is genuinely nice. Taylor??????

  211. Bo went to the Hall of Fame right before Taylor’s exhibit opening/harp jam event. They had closed for about an hour so he and his family and close friends could privatlely view his exhibit. Dixie told him about what was being planned for Taylor and he was very humbled and got emotional. It’s sad that his fanbase didn’t do anything for him. If we would have known about it in time something could have been planned for him as well. I didn’t even know he played the harp till afterwards.

  212. that would be privately, not privatlely…sorry

  213. I like Bo and wanted him to win. I have no idea what his organized fan sites are like. The BB does a great job doing things to try to support Taylor. My first readtion to what Fair would do with her money was to laugh, then the idea began to appeal to me. Taylor himself has said information is currency. So why not spend some currency for such info.

  214. Taylor was at his absolute best singing, ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, at the High Noon Salloon in Madison. He slowed it down, and his voice was crystal clear, and no one could sing or perform it better than he did. It is my favorite from that show and in the top 5 of anything I’ve ever heard him do. Cookies, and front row grandma’s may not turn on his sexuality, but had he been any more sexy singing that song, young women would jump him. Check it out if you haven’t seen it; 4Tay’s vid captured the best angle.

  215. Chunky Monkey!!!!! Where is everbody?

  216. “Everbody” Ha! I’ve had 3 lemon drop martinis………..

  217. hicksaholic Says:

God only knows what some would pay for your “bat and ball” viewing Fairhope. I doubt Taylor would cooperate though.

My nephew and his partner own Huka Entertainment that has been signed to book all the acts. I’m sure he is dreading seeing me Christmas Eve when after a few drinks I will start begging him to book Taylor. He is an AI snob.

  218. luv 2 b entertained Says:

Wow what a great smorgasboard of videos!! Hope to plow through all of them in the coming week.

Is Taylor going to be making that big announcement soon?? For his sake I hope so. Like others here, I have been a very bored fan as of late and I don’t even lurk at the BB much anymore. If you knew me, that would be very surprising to say the least. Dear Taylor…. Songwriting is KEY and Please ATTACH yourself to anyone with a hip factor STAT!! Entertain me baby….!!!

Actually, I wonder if there’s any hope that he’ll be moonlighting with Thunder Down Under ; ) Okay that’s just the wine talking.. And all those comments about Bats and Balls….*ahem*

  219. Hicks: Some names for your nephew…AMOS LEE and MICHAEL WARREN. Now that would be freakin awesome.

  220. Adam is shooting a video for “whataya want from me” woohooo!

  221. Taylor’s Christmas gift to his fans is a FREE MP3 download of the Workplay show. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people who haven’t heard him live get a feel for what he’s like onstage. The audience chatter is way down and the sound is great!

Great marketing strategy for Taylor in giving potential new fans a sample of what to expect if they purchase the WATW video coming out in Jan.

    Cheers everyone!

  222. hicksaholic Says:

    Fairhope,
I will mention Amos Lee and Michael Warren to my nephew.
I’ve seen Michael Warren and he’s great. Ben Deignan’s another one I need to mention to him.

  223. Okay, getting withdrawels here. IAG let’s get something going please!

  224. HIcks: I just read @ AL.com that they will release some of the line-up on Jan 4th for the GS MUsic Fest…. What does your nephew know????

  225. FH-she started a new blog dear. 😉

  226. Damn CF! I was asleep at 11:43. California time for you! Whatev…LOL!
