Oh, let’s count the cliches…

Just do me a favor. Just read this. Let’s have a contest. The winner will be the one who finds the most cliches…and who wants to place a bet on whether a Soul Patroller wrote this or not?

And sometimes a song is worth a thousand words:

  1. I won’t win this one, since I only found down to earth in the first sentence and true Southern gentleman in the last sentence. Lots of people who interview Taylor report he is nice and friendly. Now Tay has an angel wings tatoo to prove it.

  2. Don’t know if they are a soul patroler or not. Could be. But heres a list of other stories they wrote for the Raleigh Telegram.

    http://www.raleigh3.com/default.asp?sourceid=&smenu=1&twindow=&mad=&sdetail=&wpage=&skeyword=R%2E+Gregg&sidate=%3E%3D7%2F23%2F2009&ccat=&ccatm=&restate=&restatus=&reoption=&retype=&repmin=&repmax=&rebed=&rebath=&subname=&pform=&sc=2724&hn=raleigh3&he=.com
Maybe they just have good taste.
And don’t forget a cliche usually becomes a cliche because it speaks the truth.

  3. The only thing I know for sure with this is that I seriously adore Robbie Willams “Angels” and Taylor was grinding his back teeth when that pic was taken.

  4. I am referring to the pic in the article. In the pic you have here he has a serious looking rash on his left arm. ouch….

  5. I don’t even know what to say about an angel wing tattoo. Well, I do. But I won’t.

As brazen as I am-I’ll leave that one alone.;)

  7. Well, it could be fun, CF. But I guess we won’t go there.

Does this mean Teen Angel is his role of a lifetime?

  8. Oh, I can have way too much fun with that one. I will constrain myself. ***snickers loudly***

  9. I didn’t notice a rash on Taylor’s arm at Smiths. I’ll have to look close at my pictures. It might just be one of the spotlights falling on it.

A short article about the blog. Was trying to find out about the write, R Gregg. I think it’s a woman. There was another photo of him in that same bar with a woman, and he’s holding her close the way he seems to do with the reporter photos. But a SP? Maybe just a fan….

  10. I’m not convinced that photo of the wings is Taylor. It cold be anyone. It’s a rumor right now as far as I’m concerned. I hope those aren’t’ his wings. LOL I think an angel wings tat would be cool, but that one does not seem very well done. It’s hard to tell though because it was not a close up.

  11. Well, nola, that was I’m wondering…because you can’t see his hair in the photo that I saw.

  12. Some of these folks love to plant seeds to see who waters them and watch them grow.

Unless Taylor himself says “hey! I got a tatoo and here it is” I wouldn’t put too much into it.

  13. hahahahahha…that’s what I was just getting ready to write. It could be a temporary tattoo. You know, kind of like the ones you could get at Six Flags or something? ahhahh

  14. Oh, I’m offering up prayers that it isn’t his back that is displaying those big creepy sideways wings. He said in an interview this morning that he’d like to play Elvis in a movie. I’m also offering up prayers for that and the black dye job to go with it.

  15. hicksaholic Says:

Where did the angel wing tattoo stuff come from? I got money saying he wouldn’t get one of those unless he was really drunk down in Grand Cayman

Nola I’m with you – the rash is lighting.

  16. The best portrayal I ever saw of Elvis in a movie was by Dale Midkiff. He had the part nailed down.

    Grey-LOL@the Six Flags thing.

  17. hicksaholic Says:

I am obviously lost since everyone is seeing the angel wing tattoo except me.

  18. I mean, can you just see him drunk somewhere?

“Clay…come on…let’s get a fake tattoo and shake things up.”

ahahhaha…sorry, I’m cracking myself up this morning.

  19. I’ve said it before – Taylor has made me think of Elvis since long before I became an “active” fan earlier this year. Now I think so even more, BUT it is more his looks and speaking voice that are like Elvis to me, NOT his singing voice. Do you all think he could sing to SOUND like Elvis? I don’t think I would like for him to play Elvis if he was not going to be doing the singing too.

LOL! I needed to laugh this morning.

  21. Nola-I personally think that Taylor should stay with Taylor and not worry about impersonating someone else.

  22. Nola, I agree he sounds just like Elvis when you hear him speak on the radio and sometimes he looks like him. The BB has a thread of photo comparisons and some are amazing. Yes, I think he could pull off an Elvis role, singing and all. Remember he can imitate other singers when he wants to.

  23. LOL! Twitter shows “over capacity” Is everyone running over there to check out the tat?

  24. The BB has a thread of photo comparisons and some are amazing. Yes, I think he could pull off an Elvis role, singing and all. Remember he can imitate other singers when he wants to.

Guess Hicks isn’t so original after all….interesting

  25. Angel wing tatoo would be cool, but not convinced thats his back.
He going to have to show it to someone. 🙂
The Elvis thing doesn’t do much for me, but whatever.

  26. I only find the Elvis thing interesting as far as playing a role in a movie, not as being an Elvis impersonator CF. God help him if he was ever reduced to that. (A role like Jamie Foxx played Ray Charles in the movie “Ray.” HUGE difference.)

  27. HEY EVERYBODY CHECK THIS OUT:

Today only, Oct 21, you can get this album for $1.99. Proceeds go to charity. Pretty cool…

I think the person that wrote the article just found Taylor as many others find him just a down to earth nice guy and appreciative of all what has happened to him.

The tat, hope it is a fake, just looks like it was thrown on, not centered. iag maybe your right a fake tat, that a drunk Clay put on for him!!

  29. hicksaholic Says:

Ok it’s official- I’m an idiot. I went to the Boogie to see if Taylor tweeted it but couldn’t find it. Where are y’all seeing this tattoo?

aig – what’s the problem here? what i read was just a nice, straight forward article. i guess the overanalyzing of anything regarding Taylor Hicks is still alive and well here.

  32. taylorfan06 Says:

    i meant iag

  33. hicksaholic Says:

    Thanks ji
Please tell me that is not Taylor. I find the Alabama hat to be about as offensive as the tattoo. If that’s Taylor’s tattoo I hope he got a hell of a deal because that is some crappy work.

  34. hicksaholic Says:

    Aig is the insurance company.

  35. jerseyirish Says:

hicksaholic, I agree its not a very nice one, looks almost fake to me, its not defined like most tats I have seen, could be wrong.

    JI

  36. If he got a tat it would be a gorgeous one I would think. He’s got the money to have a really good one made

  37. jerseyirish Says:

Sierra, I agree, but if he was drunk on an island might have sounded like a good idea at the time. I would hope he would go to a reputable tat palor and have it done right. As I look at it, looks almost like a henna tat that will wash off.

    JI

  38. Yep, TF06. Overanalyzing is what we do here. 🙂

  39. taylorfan06 Says:

…every chance you get. good thing it’s not your life…

  40. hicksaholic Says:

As many time as I am sure Taylor has gotten drunk over the last 15 years it seems like he would have gotten a tattoo long before now if he wanted one. If you look at all Taylor’s close friends or even girls he has dated I don’t think I have ever seen a tattoo. So I would be really surprised if it was him. Maybe it’s that fan who got Soul Patrol tattooed on her neck or something.

  43. Tf, if you’re bored, there’s a big internet out there. Don’t feel like you have to hang around here to keep us company.

  44. TF06, What I have found is that Taylor fans don’t come in one size. It is a good thing that there are lots of sizes to pick and choose from and some fit better than others. Those who object to the way a blog is run, may want to ask themselves if Tay would be better off without that blog.

  45. If there is any doubt Taylor could sound like Elvis… Listen to this at about 2:13. LOL.

  46. hicksaholic Says:

    Tf06
This video won’t bore you for sure.

  47. I don’t think its cliches, people who have met him, journalists and fans alike, say he’s very down to earth. Not hard to believe really. 🙂

As for Taylor playing Elvis, he does have similarities lookswise and speaking voice wise, and I’ve noticed that when he hits low notes he sounds similar to the King. He definitely wouldn’t do a bad job if he ever got to play Elvis in a movie or something.

Oh God I hope thats not his tattoo though, its so badly done! He could definitely afford to get a better one! Unless he was drunk then that would explain lol.

  48. How about a little blasphemy on the blog? I don’t care for anything Elvis; never have, never will. Never liked his looks, never liked his music. I think it has something to do with the later years and the bloated and drugged Elvis, but I didn’t care for him in the early years either.

That said, yes, in some photos Taylor looks a bit like Elvis. I can live with that, since it comes and goes, and the “Elvis look” is much more pleasant on Taylor. As for the music, I like Taylor’s blues, soul and hybrids better than anything Elvis ever did.

    Anyone want to excommunicate me?

OTT, but I’ll go one better and – horror of horrors – admit that Adam Lambert totally creeps me out. Guess I’m in a contrary mood right now….

  49. Meg- Adam Lambert creeps me out too, lol!!

  50. Not Tay’s back.
#1 He would never wear an Alabama hat
#2 That person’s back is too skinny to be Taylor
#3 He just wouldn’t do that. Tacky!

He could be messing with us and it seems to be working!

  51. I agree about the back not looking like his, even though I’ve never seen it. LOL

  52. taylorfan06 Says:

Thanks for the video Dee, and Hicksaholic, you’re so right! Taylor on stage NEVER bores me. The man knows how to work the stage, and when he’s in his element…

Meg-I totally agree with you. I was too young to get into Elvis but I never cared for him when I was old enough. I’m not discounting that he had talent-but he lost himself and his self-respect.

I will take this a step further and say the only resemblance I see between Taylor and Elvis are two lost souls with various addictions that have lots of baggage between them. They have both been pulled in different directions by many different people, both have fanatic-over the top fanbases, have employeed their “inner circle” of friends, lost their focus on their music and the list goes on.

There, I said it-I’m sure the stone throwers will all be gathering in the square to cast their boulders at me but I don’t give a rats a$$. It is what it is and Elvis’s history is very well documented so there is no disputing what I said.

    Have a good night….

  55. Fairhope I agree with you 100%

  56. I will take this a step further and say the only resemblance I see between Taylor and Elvis are two lost souls with various addictions that have lots of baggage between them.
    ————————————————————————————-
WHAT !!!! the hell are you talking about. How is Taylor a lost soul with various ADDICTIONS and lots of baggage. Why can’t he just be what he is a 33 years old musician. I don;t know where you got this information or why you would state something so demeaning with no indication that Taylor is addicted to anything but cigarettes and we don:t know if he still smokes or not and who gives a shit if he does. I find that a very irresponsible statement.

  57. taylorfan06 Says:

do other artists get such scrunity on a regular basis? can we chill a bit people.

anne is right – he’s just a 33 year old musician.

just let him make his way how he sees best. he does seem happy…

some here would benefit by taking a deep breath in and exhaling. can you say splitting hairs? (still)

  58. That tattoo looks like two romaine lettuce leaves to me. Maybe it’s a super secret message to his fans . . .

    1. You use romaine lettuce to make a Caesar salad

    2. Shakespeare wrote the play Julius Caesar

    3. Sid Caesar was on Your Show of Shows

The only logical conclusion is that Taylor will be joining a troop of travelling Shakespearean comedic actors when the Grease gig is done.

    Et tu, Taylor?

  59. TF06…your right ,I may need to take a deep breath and relax. My objection was to the addiction reference. I don’t think he has any addiction problems and it is an awful thing to throw out such an accusation about a persons’ character without any concrete evidence

  60. You’re right CF. All isn’t as it appears!

  61. I think Taylor could play Elvis but no need to Elvis has been done to death. I think when he brought up Elvis, Taylor meant he would like to do some acting like Elvis did. Lots of singers do one of my favs is Harry Connick Jr.
My daughter was glued to an Elvis Presley Marathon one sat. when she was about eight. LOL. She was smitten. LOL.

  62. Gee, I go away and come back to Tay being addicted, being a lost soul with baggage who has lost his focus on music and even complaints that he employs his friends. CF. did you get out of bed on the wrong side this morning ? “cliche” I disagree with everything you wrote except for Taylor has been pulled in different directions. He hasn’t however been pushed. He is in command of his career decisions.

  63. soulaz, once again you come in and save the day. ahhahahhah

Anne, nobody knows whether Taylor has addiction problems or not. Well, except for his inner circle. There are rumors about him doing cocaine, there are rumors about him drinking too much. I really don’t fucking care what he does. But it just cracks me up that there are a certain group of fans that will run to his defense whenever something is said about his that doesn’t fit their idea of Taylor as a perfect “southern gentleman.” You’re right, he’s a 33 year old musician. I don’t know if you’ve been around many of those, but “gentleman” isn’t exactly the word that comes to mind.

Whose exactly is throwing out these hideous accusations? Give me a break. They are speculations, just as the things you say about Taylor are. Because unless any of us have a deep seated, personal relationship with Taylor, everything that we say is speculation. So, let’s quit trying to make something out of nothing. Dear God.

  64. Dee, he said a dream part would be to play Elvis. Guess I’m the only one who thinks Taylor could be a great actor.

  65. I think Taylor would be a great musician.

  66. Fairhope says: “All isn’t as it appears.”

Is anything ever what it appears to be – especially on the internet? The anonymity of the cyber world makes it very easy to post one’s opinion and declare it as fact when it is simply an opinion.

As Taylor once said, information is currency within this fanbase (and I’m sure in many others). Some folks are always implying they know something others don’t and then stepping back and watching the ruckus it stirs, claiming they really can’t say any more or offer any real proof to back their claims. Well, if that’s the case, then why say anything at all? Unless their motivation isn’t really the need to share information, but rather to cast doubts on others’ opinions and beliefs. Or simply stir the shit.

I’ve long been of the opinion (yep, this is just my opinion) that those who really know Taylor in a way that 99.9% of us never will, aren’t the ones posting on blogs and boards dropping little nuggets of “I know something you don’t know.” And you know why I think that is? Because those who truly know him have more respect for him than to do that.

  67. Grey..I never for a moment said or even thought that Taylor is a perfect southern gentleman…he’s just a person who happens to be a musician. I don’t and never have liked rumors of and kind ..about anyone Taylor, my neighbour , or a stranger I think they are dangerous and irrseponsible when they are repeated without substance. That does not make me ”one of those fans” whatever the hell that means. It makes me proud to live with myself!!!

CF didn’t fool me nor did Grey. They both seem to have some anger towards Taylor that leeks out now and then.

  70. Well shut my mouth! Thanks for the lecture Wonder. Oh and ya got me…I’m stirring the shit.

  71. Well, rosie, isn’t what any fan thinks about Taylor speculation? What would you call it?

  72. Ok, so we stir the shit and overanalyze. We are awesome.

  73. Not a lecture, Fairhope, just an observation. Those are allowed here, right?

I admire shit-stirrers who can admit right out loud that ‘s what they’re doing. Never have been a fan of subterfuge.

  74. Own it, Grey! 😀

Time for bed. Have a lovely evening!

  75. I do have to admit the first time I met him it was not in a meet and greet or a concert or anything like that. He was in a bar in Alabama and maybe I was interupting his private time, but….he was not the personality I had believed him to be. Sooo, as I said, not all is as it appears. Oh and he was smoking and had a beer in his hand!! OMG!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And yes, I will cut him some slack. I’m sure it gets old having total strangers bothering you all the time.

  76. he was not the personality I had believed him to be

Fairhope, I have had that experience happen too. I would not want to be around Mr. Hicks on a “bad” day. 😯

  77. Yikes!

  78. OK, I’m gonna get weird on y’all. Read all about the Libra personality. It will explain him to tee. My 18 y/o son is a Libra and I am about to kill him!

  79. IAG? Do you know a lot about Amos Lee? I sure wish he would do more concerts. Love him!!!!!

  80. God, I love Amos Lee. Went to a concert of his last year. Awesome.

  81. POst a video of “Arms of a Woman” and watch all these women on this board melt!

  82. Saw him in Mobile this past spring and yes, I was right in front. Awesome!

    is WONDERful!

oh – I LOVE when Taylor ‘duels’ on the harp with ANY other musician on ANY other instrument….hmmm how would it sound if he did that with a fellow harp player….?

Rosie, what ever my intentions, motives or my feelings towards Taylor may or may not be isn’t yours or anyone else’s business. And the conspiracy theorist who think they know are way off base and have no clue.

  87. Anne-Maybe you should read Taylor’s book “Heart Full of Soul” where he touches on his addictions and some of his demons. And if I’m not mistaken, I think in past interviews from long ago Taylor mentioned being able to identify with Elvis on many levels.

All of us have addictions which isn’t always drugs or alcohol. If you take the time to actually listen and hear Taylor’s music-especially from his early material the message is pretty clear-he was carrying a lot of pain and baggage around. Even his latest cd “The Distance” indicates this along with growth, hope and promise.

Anything I have stated has actually come from Taylor’s own mouth at one time or another. Do you not believe in what he says?

I’m gonna add my two cents about the addiction. Do I think Taylor is a coke addict, no, probably a recreational user but not addicted. If you have had or have coke addicts in your life you know the appearance/lifestyles Taylor does not fit either. I don’t think anyone is that naive to think he doesn’t dable in things, he is was a struggling bar musician for 10 years and as cf said he admitted to drug use in his book, not addication just drug use. You look at some pics and can tell he is flying high, not my place to judge what he does, just enjoy the music he puts out.

Very well said, JI. Unfortunately, some people are that naive.

  95. casualfan Says:

    sad, isn’t it?

  96. Well, all we know for sure about Taylor is sometimes he has pissy days and doesn’t fall all over himself to suck up to fans. So what! LOL.
Although I must say most of those first hand reports I’ve read seem to be quite a while back. He seems to be in a better place now with a better frame of mind. Not that he doesn’t still have some pissy days that no one would want to he around him BUT I could say the same about myself and everyone I know. OMG that must make Taylor……….human. LOL.

  97. Well I for one appreciate this blog. At least we can try and look at things without the “Taylor is God” mentality

  98. JI..your absolutely right I don”t think anyone is naive enough to believe that Taylor has not dabled with the rest of his buddies , but you know what that part of his being is none of our business..we are not responsible for him

CF I have read Taylor’s book and listened to the audio tape as well…the thing is I read the written word not between the lines, since I don’t know this person on an personal level it would I think be impossible to think I could guess what would be between the lines. However you I guess are better equipped for this that I am, me.. merely being a fan of his music.
I have NEVER heard Taylor imply that he had an addication problem at ANY time in ANY interview. Could you possibly point that out to me…or is this you reading between the lines (without fact ,those lines are not really very straight)
Drinking to much…dabbling in recreational drugs I’m sure being a musician ..he’s done his share (I don’t know ..you don’t know, but ADDICATION is a whole other matter..ask an addict. My point is and this not only applies to Taylor but to any human being dont throw things out about a persons character with NO factual back up..even then ..why would anyone want to demean another human being like that. I don”t get it.

It seems to me that people can make disparaging remarks & they are being real. Positive= naive???? I am NOT naive by a long shot..just fair. If you are going to shit on someone’s character at least do it from first hand experience, not reading between the lines.

  99. I’m a Libran so I can certainly relate to moods and moodiness; it’s a product of finally saying enough is enough. Tip the scales and they’ll swing back and smite you.

That pic is not Mr. Hicks, you can take that as a fact.

You guys are completely cracking me up reading through the posts. Word to TF06 if you need to have the cliche’ meaning spelled out to you and any cliche’s involved in that article, baby you don’t need to worry about playing anyway. Psst, your passive aggression is showing.

  100. CF, I don’t know what you meant by conspiracy theorists. My statement last night was in regard to your suddenly attacking Taylor on several fronts and Grey defending you by kind of attacking Anne’s reaction. In this online fandom one of the cliches is the rainbow fan who think Tay is all good and manly things rolled into one fine singer/entertainer. The opposite cliche is those so called realist fans who mock the rainbows and feel a need to point out Tay’s failings, be it his clothes, manner, purpose in life or his music. I can live and deal with both cliche types. The rainbows sometimes refer to the realists as haters or angry women. At least this has been my experience. Many, many fans fall in the middle.

  101. Anyhooo,
Loved the video, and I would listen to a CD of Taylor doing Elvis covers all freakin’ day long!
I’ve always been an Elvis fan, since as long as I can remember.
    Long live the King!

  102. Just because he had problems with addiction in the past and wrote it in a book, doesn’t mean he has them now. Unless you have some real facts, then you are spreading untrue gossip. It’s supposed to be about the music anyway, isn’t it? This kind of fan speculation to me is going over the line.

I have more to say, but it will have to wait until later.

  103. “ADDICATION”. Anne is that a new form of addicted to addition? lol

    I’m addicted to love.

  104. Omg, I agree with Snowstorm. Drinking and so called being seen smoking pot is not addiction. I don’t recall any passage in his book where he said he was addicted to acholol or any illegal drugs. He said he drank too much when he was down on his career and that he partied, got arrested for pot possesion, ate junk food and implied he slept around with one night stands. He isn’t rehab status as far as any of us knows. Also why do so many feel a need to volunteer they are not naive and know how musicians are with regards to drinking and drugs? Why feel you have to defend yourself when responding to someone who says Taylor has addictions?

  105. Sunny, acholol is the morning pain after too much alcholol> No need to correct my spelling.

  106. ya wanna read about a successful musician’s addictions – check out Eric Clapton’s biography. a good read too.

and I still love Eric! (his music of course – don’t know him personally – even though I read his book)

  107. Sunny…addicted to addition is not a strong point with me and hubby would verify that with the back account, I’m more into subtraction..LOL

Rosie,,Wasn’t defending myself..just pointing out an observation made by someone that doesn’t know me that was not true…go figure and honestly I don’t know a thing about musicians only that they make me happy with their music and I love it or I don’t , I guess I should have just said young men..cause that I do know about. And I agree completely with your post. I don’t recall Taylor talking about any addictions either.

  108. jerseyirish Says:

Anne,I believe he said in the book, he did “some illegal substances” and that was his only mention of it, talked more about drinking way too much and waking up wondering how he got where he was.

    JI

  109. I love the topic going on at the BB general thread about Tay taking TV or acting roles. That is something I know a tad about and put my 4 cents in. hopefully this addiction topic will die a slow death. Taylor hasn’t lost his way, he is in Austin and in the past he says he travels with 4 bags. He still sings, practices the guitar and harp and writes music. Don’t care who he employs but I volunteer to be his masuese. That is my final response to CF’s rant or on this topic.

  110. Hicksfan, I too read Eric Clapton’s book a good read but so sad that he
wasted so many good years with drugs. Seems he was depressed and at loose ends most of his life.

  111. hicksfan7 Says:

Dee – yes – horribly sad, not only for him, but also for those who have known and loved him. Happy for him that he has finally turned it around.

  112. “That is my final response to CF’s rant or on this topic.”
    Thank you.

Lost my brother to drugs last Friday morning. Lifelong struggle with substance abuse/dependency. They were legal prescriptions – a bad combination… We don’t think it was intentional but he was so out of it he did not remember what he took and kept taking and taking over a 5 day period. Glad Clapton and others did not end up that way and got control of their lives. Wish my brother had been able to.

  113. hicksfan7 Says:

oh Nola – that is heartbreaking – I’m so sorry for you and your family’s loss..

  114. Snowstorm Says:

As far as Taylor and fan interaction, Taylor has done a poor job. He makes promises to fans and never keeps them.

I’ve never had a conversation or M&G with Taylor, but I’ve read enough to know that Taylor is ill at ease with fans. Many of his fans make up excuses for him such as he’s moody, shy, sick, tired, etc, etc. and it could very well be that, but I doubt it. I personally think he’s not too happy with the Idol TV fans he got. He hasn’t done much to increase his fanbase outside of Idol. If you’re music is dated and you have gray hair, and your musical heros are Ray Charles and Van Morrison, then you’re going to attract fans much older. Grease did nothing for his music career.

I also do not think Taylor uses Twitter effectively. His tweets are cryptic and his communication is unclear. He’s reserved and not an open book. Or he tries to do that Cone Ranger and ice cream flavor silliness that maybe a 10 year old would like. But does he realize he’s tweeting to mature fans and not children? He posts pictures that he’s taken, and even his pictures are dull. Is anyone really excited over seeing some dull golf course and a lake? I follow Daughtry and other Idols and their tweets are straightforward, clear and playful. I get a true sense of who Daughtry is, therefore I can relate to him, but with Taylor, he is puzzling and detached.

So, I’ve come to the conclusion, Taylor does not like his fans.

  115. jerseyirish Says:

Rosie, I would think with Grease ending in June its only 8 months away, he is already working out what he will do next. Would love to see him on TV or in a movie, even another Broadway production would be ok and doing his music along with it. He has got to do what works for him and his future.

Nola, My thoughts are with you and yours.

    JI

  116. Snowstorm Says:

Unless a major record label picks him up, I really think Taylor’s recording career is over. You need success to move forward and Taylor did not get any. So, I think acting is the answer for him. Most likely another Broadway play. Hopefully, he’ll be able to land something.

NolaMar – sorry for you loss. That’s sad he didn’t seek out the help he needed.

  117. Counting the cliches – which no one else seems to be doing.

Blog Post: Picture included, random thoughts, what do you think?
States that someone close to him told me it was true.
Denial of trush and people close to him wouldn’t say it if it was.
    Adds, I also heard it.
For me, I just like the music.
    The music is bad.
    Sarcastic side comment.
Thank you for having this blog.
    Witty rejoinder.
Can’t we just let him be?
I do, I don’t bother him unless it’s to spend 4 hours a day reading and writing about him.
He would be good, if not for the problems.
    Righteous indignation.
    He does not have problems.
Comment filled with spite and rage.
    I heard that he does.
Statement: I know all about the recording industry. No, I am not backing that up with facts.
Did you see him that day sing that song? Man, that’s what I’m here for.
    Let him play his music.
Strong agreement with something only tangentially related to the original topic.
    Who are his friends anyway?
I love other musicians too, which makes me opinion more credible right?
    He is a southern gentleman.
    Improper use of . . . . . ellipsis.
Why do you people keep picking on him. He is the one true musician.
    We’re just being honest.
Someone on that other site said that thing. They were wrong. I was right.
Old people have money and we spend it.
    I never said that.
Why does a hate site like this blog exist.
You did say that. And you say it all the time.
If by “southern” you mean “southern” then he is “southern”. Can I get a “Freebird”!
Why can’t you be happy with just the music?
What happened to that poster who used to post and now doesn’t post?
Apologizes for righteous indignation, but states that opnion was correct.
I am happy, why can’t I talk about it?
    Obligatory huffiness.
Leaves in huff, never to return (returns two days later)
    Sorry you misunderstood.
Those are my opinions – like it or lump it.
Does not have time to read entire thread but wanted to say I agree with everything.
    What dinner is burning?

Nola, I am sorry! Take care.

  124. Well that list makes me wish I had been around during the G.C. era. Man Charcoal you really showed your ellipisis and balls with that one.

  125. And charcoal, that is some seriously high praise from rosie!

    =============================================
LOL! This blog does read like some mad comic strip. There’s another addiction oozing thru here called DENIAL.

    Good day all

  129. It turned out to be fun thread thanks to the wit and writing skills of that spy, Charcoal. We can laugh at ourselves despite being losers in the cliche game. Would we dare be ballsy enough to vote for our top 3 favorites on Charcoals list? I have my chosen three.

  130. Snowstorm Says:

“There’s another addiction oozing thru here called DENIAL.”

That’s funny, cf! You always give the impression that you know more than fans. I think you should spill. Maybe I really am in the dark.

I’m someone who always says it’s about the music, but it really is so much more than that.

  131. WaitForMe Says:

Snow, Taylor likes his fans, he just doesn’t “visit” Cougarland.
I think that is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard him say.
The next time someone has a meet and greet, please ask him what “visit” means. I would love to hear his answer.

  132. Snowstorm Says:

WaitForMe, well, he doesn’t have to visit Cougarland, just be nice to fans, but maybe he’s jaded. Still, it’s rude when someone says hi or asks a question and you get silence from him. But, Idol fans can be overbearing with their multiple concerts and M&G’s. Who’s knows what’s in his mind.

  133. Dare I? Oh, why not! Another cliche – “I miss Charcoal’s blog. Those were the days.”

  134. casualfan Says:

    Snow-
I don’t know Taylor personally and never said that I did. If posters want to take what I say as such, that’s their problem and not mine. Whenever a comment is made about Taylor that the masses don’t agree with, they go on auto pilot with the old “she acts like she’s in the know” cliche. Those same people are acting like they are “in the know” also by defending someone who they think is perfect and can do no wrong.

A poster on ning.com in the chat not too long ago said that if anyone ever hurts Taylor, the SP will decend on them like a pack of wild dogs because they won’t stand by to see their boy hurt. How right she was.

Your comment about you being someone who is always about the music-Oh please…Your objective to posting on this blog is anything but.

  135. Snowstorm Says:

cf, hmmm, your posts always have a hint that you know more than the average fan, but whatever.

What can I say about the poster that said that – Taylor has lots of moms, who want to protect their little boy, but that’s nothing new.

I beg to differ. I may at times go off course, but I usually post about his music or the demographic of his fanbase, or his lack of interest in his fans.

  136. Great Charcoal. LMAO. But you missed one.

How about the cliche: Why do you spend any time on Taylor’s sites when all you do is bash him at every opportunity?

  137. Snow I’ve been reading fan and reporter accounts for some time and I read very little to indicate that Taylor is still having trouble relating to his fans. Yes, there were those stories floating around but the last year or many even two he has been more comfortable and I read almost no bad comments saying he was not attentive. He has said he was shy and I think it’s been hard for him to put himself out there. Personally, I think he’s been doing very well. If I was on his schedule I’d want a lot more time to myself than he is getting.
As far as Twitter I see nothing wrong with his tweets. They are fun with a touch of goofy. Are there those who Tweet better probably. I follow a few celebs who I thought would be fun but they turned out to be just weird. LOL.

  138. Snow and CF take it out back the bar in the alley.

  139. I think enough has been said on this subject.

  140. Snowstorm Says:

If it’s a paid meet and greet, he’s forced to be attentive because that’s what a fan paid for. I think for Grease, you have buy his cd to meet him. So, I guess he’s nice if you pay for it.

I remember reading not too long ago.. maybe 4-5 months ago or something like that.. a young male fan approached him for his autograph and pic with him and said Taylor was rude and also tweeted about the negative experience, however he did get his autograph and pic. Stuff like that makes a big difference and an unpleasent experience means that fan will most likely not spend his money on Taylor.
